Founded in 1926, this nursery business was started by Maurice and Mary Demey, Belgian immigrants.  By 1940, Mary had been widowed and was running the business on her own.

The Demey children, Esther, Walter, Jean, and Ilene, all worked for the family business. The florist and greenhouse was operational until at least 1957, according to city directories. Mrs. Demey died in 1992.
